About Our Sacred Namkaran Journey
Helping Hindu families discover the perfect, auspicious name rooted in Janma Nakshatra and Vedic tradition since 2018.
How It All Began
Honestly? This website was born out of pure frustration.
Back in 2018, my sister gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in Pune. Our family wanted to follow the Namkaran Sanskar properly — finding a name that started with the correct syllable based on her Janma Nakshatra. But when we searched online, everything was either too complicated, completely wrong, or copy-pasted from some old PDF without any real Vedic understanding.
We ended up spending three days going back and forth between our family Pandit ji, old Panchangs, and confusing astrology apps. That's when I thought — why isn't there a simple, authentic, and beautiful resource for Hindu parents who actually care about the sacred meaning behind their child's name?
So I started collecting notes. Then those notes became a blog. And that blog became what you see today.
What We Believe
We believe that a name is not just a label. In Sanatana Dharma, the Namkaran Sanskar is one of the 16 Samskaras — a sacred rite that shapes a child's destiny. The vibrations of the name, aligned with the birth star and Rashi, carry energy that stays with the child for life.
But we also believe this ancient wisdom should be accessible. You shouldn't need a degree in Jyotisha to understand what letter your baby's name should start with. That's our mission: to bridge authentic Vedic knowledge with modern, busy parents who want the best for their children.
"Every child deserves a name that carries the blessings of their Nakshatra. We are simply here to help you find it."
What Makes Us Different
π️ Authenticity First
We don't just list random Sanskrit words. Every name suggestion on this blog is cross-referenced with traditional Vedic Jyotisha principles, classical name syllables (Aksharas) for all 27 Nakshatras, and their connection to the 12 Rashis.
πΏ Free & Open Knowledge
Our Namkaran Calculator and name guides are completely free. No paywalls, no forced sign-ups. This is sacred knowledge, and we believe it should flow freely to every family who seeks it.
π Respect for Tradition
While we use technology to organize and present information, we always respect the role of your family Pandit or Jyotishi. Think of us as your digital Panchang — a starting point for deeper consultation, not a replacement for it.
Who's Behind This?
Hi, I'm the founder and primary writer here. I'm not a Pandit, but I am someone who has spent years studying Nakshatra-based naming, reading BαΉhat ParΔΕara HorΔΕΔstra, and consulting with learned astrologers across India — from Varanasi to Rishikesh to Kerala.
This blog is a one-person labor of love (with occasional help from my mother, who has an incredible memory for traditional names!). I personally research, write, and update every article. If you ever find a mistake, please tell me. I genuinely read every email.
